Do you believe in magic?
Hey! It’s Celene! And I’m thrilled to be here again to share a Mommy Lhey Little Bits project with you. So, do you? Believe in magic? Or the magic that wonderful, lovely and delightful things can bring? Because I surely do! When I opened my Mommy Lhey Little Bits April Box I knew that I am holding magic right here in my hands! Just look at them magical stuff whipped up by our fairy godmommy, Lhey! Everything is just so pretty!
And if you were able to get this box you’d know there are more magical digital goodies included in it. Yup. Yes. There’s more goodness! Isn’t it amazing? I was so inspired by everything inside the box that I think it had me in an enchantment. My hands couldn’t wait to dig in and do some magic too!
So without further ado, here’s my own magic trick! I’m making a Washi Sample Dispenser!
Here are my accomplices:
- 2 Sheets of Little Bits Believe in Magic Exclusive Digital Prints (printed on 8.5×11 sticker paper) – I chose the one with the unicorn ballerina doing her cute little split because she is just too adorable plus the background is such a pretty pink shade.
- Little Bits Exclusive Believe in Magic Clear Stamps
- Little Bits Exclusive Believe in Magic Ephemeras/Die Cuts
- Mommy Lhey Pigment Ink Pads
- A strip of acetate
- Mini Cling Wrap/Foil Dispenser ( I have used up my cling wrap, in case you haven’t, you may want to transfer the roll in a safe and clean container if you want to try this project.)
I started by taking off the white parts on my sticker paper print outs with a paper trimmer.
Then, I tore off the protective backing of the sticker paper and carefully attached the sticker sheet on one side of the cling wrap dispenser. I laid it flat on the table, running it left to right so it can cling to the box really well and without bumps. The idea is to fully cover the cling wrap dispenser with your sticker paper. Be wary of the sharp jagged edges of the cling wrap trimmer. Do not cover it up as this is what we will use to cut off our washi samples too. Once the box is fully covered, cut off excess sticker paper, as needed. (If you are doing this project with your child, please be extra careful of the sharp edges, it can cut and hurt. It would be best to assist all throughout.)
This is how it looks like fully covered. I added a pink glitter washi tape to cover the connecting lines.
I also covered my cling wrap roll with my excess sticker paper. Tadah!
I also stamped on the inside of my box to add some fun! I used Mommy Lhey ink pads in Lemon, Blush & Beach. I transferred some of the ink on an acrylic block by dabbing each pad in 3 parts. I attached my chosen clear stamp on another acrylic block and used the inked acrylic block as an ink pad. I chose these 3 ink pad colours so when stamped and mixed together they would magically form more colours too! Lemon and Beach is green & Beach and Blush is lavender. Don’t you think it’s lovely?
I proceeded to label my washi dispenser with chipboard letters that says ‘WASHI’. Plus I attached a pink ‘Believe in Magic’ ephemera to adorn it too!
I also added a thin strip of plastic/acetate on the edge of my box. This would serve as a protective barrier between paper and washi so the washi tape would remain sticky and the paper remain beautiful.
Time to roll those washi samples in! Bippity bobbity boo!
Here’s is my finished Washi Sample Dispenser! Yaay! I am so in love with it!
What do you think? Do you like it? I’m sure you can create magic too! I hope I have sparked some inspiration in you to start playing with your kit!
