Hi guys! It’s Kim from @Scrapbookwithkim on IG! December has begun and we are on our way to celebrate Christmas! I wanted to show you guys how I used MommyLhey’s inks to stamp a layout in my KikkiK monthly pages. The supplies I will be using for this are the Doodled Sweater, Sweater Weather (try saying that 10x fast Lol!), and the Santa Baby stamp set. The main pigment inks I will be using are Lavender, Beach Bum, Leafy Green, Blush, and Tainted Brown.
So first I took my Recollections watercolor brush pen and dipped it into the Leafy Green ink and colored the background of various days. I wanted to give the page some color in addition to the images that I will be stamping
Then I took the Santa Baby and Sweater Weather stamp sets to stamp the small images and words in random boxes. I love how perfectly they fit in the boxes. I also created a background with some of the small images such as the tiny stockings and used another piece of paper to mask parts of the image.
With the Doodled Sweater stamp set, I stamped some Christmas sweaters using Memento Inks and then colored them in using ML’s pigment inks. I love using these inks to color in my images because you can layer the colors to make certain parts darker or create shadows, both of which I am not that good at and still need to work on. The dual use of these inks makes it perfect when you have limited space and can’t bring both of your ink pads and watercolor palette.
Here is what my December monthly layout looks like after it is complete. I hope this was helpful and I will see you guys at the end of the month for another blog! If you missed out on the very first July’s Prickly Friends LittleBits, don’t forget to order December’s LittleBits! There will be more prickly friends!
