I, Jojo from Instagram: @theprettylilthings has a fun embroidery hoop frame tutorial to share with you that will give your home a little sparkle of happiness. It’s an affordable way to display your photos with your design ideas.
First of let’s gather some supplies to do this DIY.
- Mommylheys design pattern paper from MAY 2017 little bits box
- Mommylheys design puffy stickers from MAY 2017 little bits box -any embellishment you wish to use (flower, feather, die cuts, stickers, lace)
- Wood Hoops
- Solid color Cardstock
- Adhesives – quick dry glue or gluestick
- Scissors or Ek circle cutter (optional)
In this project I have a photograph of me and my sister during a festival. This is my inspiration for my whole theme for this diy. First I choose my favorite patterned paper from MommyLhey May Little Bits box and solid cardstock paper that would match my theme. I Grab the hoop and start to trace outside. Cut the patterned papers according to that traced shape.
After cutting out the cardstocks I use some glue to paste the patterned papers to the wooden hoops. You can use paper glue or any adhesive you have. I place the whole circle at the back and half circle at the front of the hoop.
Add your own embellishments of your choosing, In my project I choose lace, pretty flowers, chipboard frame and feather I have on hand. I wanted to add the puffy stickers “wild and free” from the May Little Bits on top of the flowers to give some dimension. I personally think the phrase was perfect for my project. My sister and I have shared numerous of fun adventure and I think this was a sweet addition to my theme.
This is a fun and simple project to spruce up your photo display at your home. You can decorate your wooden hoops and get creative with it. Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy this crafty project.
