Hi Planner Girls! It’s me, Celene! And I’m here to let you know what I love most about clear stamps, most especially Mommy Lhey’s. I mean if you ask me, my instant answer would be that I get to recreate Lhey’s beautiful art pieces right here in my craft table! Don’t you just love watching her design in action on IG? And don’t you wish you can design and write like her too? I do! Her drawings are always so kawaii (cute!) and her writing is perfectly flourished. I especially love her take on florals! They are always so dreamy and whimsical!
So when she came up with a floral stamp aptly named Inspired Flora, I knew I would love, love, love it. And yes, fell in love with it, I did!
I immediately get my ink pads, precision stamping tool, the Inspired Flora stamp set and started on a project that I had in mind. I used it to decorate my Turquoise Little Bits TN Notebook Cover. Here’s how it went:
First, I unthreaded the notebook cover from the notebook sheets so I can lay it flat on my precision stamping tool. The notebook cover is a kraft cardstock which I love to stamp and color on as I’m sure the colors would show on it really nice.
Next, I stamped the phrase: Create Your Own Journey right in the middle of the front cover. Then I stamped the 3 floral clear stamps, carefully creating a floral pattern on the whole cover. I used white pigment ink because I thought of embossing the stamped images later on to create a fun texture. Plus when you add color to fill in the spaces later on, I think the colors would pop out more.
When I was happy with the pattern that I created and have filled up every space, I then rearrange the floral stamps on the stamping tool to re-stamp the images, now using a watermark ink for embossing.
To emboss, I sprinkled white embossing powder on the watermarked images, tapped the excess, carefully brushed off itty bits on the sides (the ones that didn’t stuck on the watermark ink but stuck to your paper anyway because of friction.. eep!) and then used a heat embossing tool and performed some magic!
I then coloured in the images using coloured pencils.
The pages of my notebook look inviting to stamp on too! So I did decorate several pages with the gorgeous floral stamps. I stamped the floral images on the header and footer of my pages and coloured them in. I love it!
I had so much fun using Mommy Lhey stamps to decorate my TN notebook!
I hope you had fun reading it as much as I did have fun making it! And I hope you get to try it soon! Come join us in the Mommy Lhey Everything Facebook group for more creative inspiration! We would love to see your awesome projects too! Do share and let us keep on inspiring each other! Thank you so much for taking the time to read! Until next time!
