Hello everyone, it’s Courtney here again to share with you a super easy DIY to fancy up your ML traveler’s notebooks! I decided to make a TN cover using the June Little Bits digital papers. This is a quick and easy way to create covers for your travel notebooks simply by coloring and adding the finished papers to your TN’s!
For this project you will need:
- Cardstock (as always I use the Xpress-It cardstock for use with alcohol markers)
- Scissors or Paper Trimmer
- Coloring Medium (I used Copic markers)
- Laminator and/or Foxy Fix clear dashboard (size no. 6 for ML’s personal TN and size no. 2 for the pocket version)
So first you will want to use the postcard included in your ML Little Bits box and follow the directions for downloading your ML digital papers. Once you have that done, go ahead and print the digital mermaid’s sheet on your preferred cardstock. I used Xpress it cardstock – only because I will be using copic markers. If you plan on using a different medium, make sure you are using the best cardstock to suit your needs.
Next, I will be using the Foxy Fix clear dashboard in size no. 6 for my Personal ML dashboard, but you can choose to also laminate yours or simply use the cardstock as is. To start I measured my dashboard to be sure that I cut down my cardstock to fit within it perfectly (4.33 x 8.25 in).
Next I trimmed my paper accordingly and made sure the dimensions matched my target measurement of 4.33 x 8.25 in. After trimming the paper I used my copic color matching sheets I showed you all in a past post to pick colors I felt matched the pink dotted TN – just in case anyone is interested the following copics are the ones I used: RV04, RV06, RV10, RV11, BG45, BG49, BG11, YG11, YG13 and YG17.
With my colors chosen I colored my digital paper with the aforementioned copic markers. Here is a look at the finished image!
After I finished coloring I simply slide the digital paper into the dashboard from Foxy Fix and inserted it into my ML traveler’s notebook! I also couldn’t resist printing out the June Little Bits digital stamp and coloring her as well! I cut her to fit inside my TN pocket and gently slid her into place! Here is a look at the finished product!
I’m in love with the way it turned out and it was super quick and easy! Be sure to check out my IG: @clmplans to see how I finish setting up my new ML TN! Have a happy weekend!
