Hello friends! It’s me Cammy on the blog today. I hope you have been well. Sometimes I feel that creative planning can be quite an expensive hobby – especially since we love our planners and spreads to look gorgeous! I love using stamps since they are equally as effective in beautifying my spreads, and are so versatile. They can be used in so many ways, and they will not run out like stickers! So anyway, I’m here to share with you a functional planner layout using washi and two April stamp sets – Working Gals and Happy Girls 🙂
This week, I wanted to attempt more functional planning, since I have more free time. So I decided to try my hand at these timed inserts, so that I can plan a more structured day. I will be planning in my AnniePlansPrintables inserts – I’m using the undated timed daily grid. I use the left page to plan my day and write some simple daily goals/to-dos. The right page is used for some short journaling, and a section for gratitude! Let’s get started!
I first pick my washi before I start planning. Then, I pick my ML ink pads that coordinate with my washi. For this spread, I’m using the colours Peonie Pink, Beach Bum, Sunrise, Midnight Sky, Ripped Jeans and Queen of the Night! I like to stick my washi on the top and bottom of each page, and sometimes I love to layer them on top of one another. Next, I fill in the dates since I’m using an undated insert. I usually start with the right page since it’s a blank canvas!
I really like to use those “washi flag” looking stamps and then stamp my title over it, or leave it blank. I drew a box and wrote “I am grateful for..” to remind myself to pen down my grateful moments of each day. I really like how it looks like a post-it stuck to my page with some “faux washi” hehe. These are also great to use as headers!
Then I stamp some cute decorative images like the girl hiding behind a cloud and some positive sentiments, like “Just stay happy!” and “blessed”. Seeing such positive affirmations really brighten up my day and keep me grounded. I used the girl carrying the handbag and planner on Thursday because my best friend and I are going on a sushi date and shopping! I stamped the cute planner girl at her desk on Friday, because I intend to craft all day and play with my planners hehe. Sometimes, I like to stamp my images onto sticker paper and colour that in with copics, and fussy cut them out. For this spread, I already had a coloured image of the girl blowing bubbles, so I just cut that out and stuck it into my planner. Other times when I’m feeling lazier, I just stamp directly onto the planner page.
Here comes the functional planning! I stamped some headers and flags to block out certain times of the day when I know I will be at the gym or heading out, and then I proceed to fill in using a pen. I also create a simple goals/to-do section and fill that out as well. Once I’m done, I pulled out My Doodled Day stamp set to stamp some kawaii icons that match my plans. This is just to add some extra cuteness to the spread.
And voila! I love how colourful this turned out, and I’m so excited to tackle the next half of my week. I hope this has inspired you to try stamping in your planners. See you in the next blog post!
