Hello All! Jackie here and I wanted to do something a little different this month using the April Little Bits Box. I am going to show you how to use just a few pieces from your kit to make four mini greeting cards – not because it isn’t jammed pack full of goodness, but because I know you want to use it on everything from your planners to your scrapbooks, so this will leave you will plenty to do it all!
You will need 4 pieces of white cardstock, each cut at 3” x 6” and then scored down the middle. I used a bone folder to make the fold nice and crisp.
For this card, instead of using watercolors, I will show you how to use your ML pigment ink to give you the same effect. Grab a piece of plastic or an extra stamp block; “stamp” your inkpad on the block. Make sure you get it nice and full of ink.
Then, use your watercolor brush to paint. If you do not have a watercolor brush, a regular paintbrush, with a little water, will do the same.
I painted a quick, filled in circle and then let that dry – don’t worry if your circle isn’t “perfect” – the more random, the better! After the ink dried, I stamped “Create Magic” from the Little Bits stamp set in black. The kit came with some gorgeous iridescent sequins, so of course I had to use those. I glued a few of them down and this card was finished!
For the next card, I used the beautiful blue diamond pen and put several random dots on the front of the card.
After the ink dried, I grabbed my stickers and chose three stickers that I felt could go great together and offer a friend some words of encouragement. This card is ready!
For the third card, I simply placed a piece of the embossed washi tape about two-thirds of the way down the card.
I then placed the “Happy” gold puffy sticker down as the greeting for this quick, easy and cheerful card.
On the last card, I used the “Be Happy” stamp from the included set. I stamped these in the ‘Sunrise’ and ‘Mist’ ML colors, in a random pattern. I left about a 1” thick line, approximately two thirds of the way down the card, empty for a sticker.
As you can see, I used some Mommy Lhey sticky notes on the sides of the card so that I could stamp parts of the phrase without it getting all over my desk area. Also, when using ‘Mist’ color for this card, I actually stamped once on the sticky note before stamping on the card so that I could get a lighter shade of grey.
I used a pop up dot to adhere the bee sticker (from one of the sticker sheets) in that empty space and then used my pen to sketch out a LOVEly trail.
I hope these cards gave you a bit of inspiration for other ways to use your goodies from the Mommy Lhey Little Bits Box! These cards are quick to put together, but could give a friend a long lasting smile <3
