Hi everyone! This is Johanna from @theprettylilthings sharing with how I made my moving fun and organized. Moving can be so much stressful without having a system. In my case being in the military, we have the priviledge to hire movers to help us move from one state to another or even across the world. We recently bought our first home so alot of moving and planning is happening in our lives this past months. We are staying in San diego longer than we expect so we have to move ourselves on our own. But let me tell you having a system, checklist, and to do list can make everything smooth sailing. Let show you couple ways that help me thru this process..
Let’s get started, shall we!!! First, let’s gather our materials.
- MommyLhey’s standard Back to Basic TN
- MommyLhey’s stamps
- ink pads
- coloring pens
- sticker paper
I’m personally loving MommyLhey newest addition to her shop. She recently added gorgeous designs of planners from a pocket size travelers notebook to standard size travelers’s notebook. I will be using the Back to Basic, black and white with gold stripes standard size TN. I use this for my important affairs and in this case important agenda. Let me just tell you that I love every detail of her TN. It has functional pockets , extra strings to add more inserts, smooth pages of notebook that came with it, a dust bag to proctect your TN or store them, unique leather heart charm in front elastic string, pen loop for your cute pens. Every detail is well thought of and the design is gorgeous. You can use it however your heart desire. A wallet, a planner, journal, and the list goes on.
On this page, I started with my checklist for things I need to remember before moving out and moving to our new home. Simple checklist I made using a ruler and a pen. I wrote specific things that I need to remember. This is pretty basic and easy..To make it more fun I stamp couple of MommyLhey’s stamp images from the currently set… Into plain white sticker paper and hand cut them individually.
Next page I will show you is the checklist on how we successfully pack our 2 bedroom, 2 bath home and my garage office. This part was the hardest part for me. Mainly because I want to downsize and get rid of clutter and stuff we forgot about and never used. Especially in my closet. I have dozens of clothes that never worn or havent worn in years. I want to challenge myself to have minimal items to keep that’s functional and my go to items that I normally use. I want to apply this to my craft/office. We all know the struggle of hoarding cute stuff even if we never use them. So in this page, I made a checklist of which room to pack first and which items goes in to our moving pods first in a manner that when we unpack them the most necessisary items that we need when we move in will be at the front.
Using my TN from mommylhey I made a checklist of every room to pack and day that needs to finish each room. Using my pen and ruler I made a checklist box. To make fun and exciting for me I stamped images directly to the page as a background of the checklist box using MommyLhey’s stamp inspired floral set… I colored the stamp images using my color pencil. Taddaaaa…nice pretty checklist that I enjoy to relieve my stress.
YAY!!! We are almost to the finish line of our moving process just waiting for the new house to be done painted so we can move our household items. I Hope you guys enjoy simple but fun ways to help with your move. You can also do this in simple journaling or planning style for any event in our busy bee life.
Thank you guy for your time til next time.
