The first thing I did to create my June monthly spread in my Leuchtturm1917 bullet journal was to map out the monthly squares. You can choose how big or small you want your squares to be, but for my spread I used these measurements (going by the “dots” on each page) – for your left page, you are going to start at 9 “dots” down and 7 “dots” in from the edge of your page. I shade in a little circle at that point, and then start counting 7 “dots” down and shade in another small circle and continue this all the way down the page to the last “dot”. Then starting back up at your first initial circle count 6 “dots” across and shade in a small circle, continue this across the page till you get to the last “dot” before the crease of the page.
On the right page you are going to make your first initial shaded circle 12 “dots” in and 9 “dots” down. Then just as the left page you are going to count 7 “dots” down and shade a small circle, continuing this until the last “dot”. Starting back up at the initial shaded circle count 6 “dots” in towards the crease of your page and shade a small circle for every sixth “dot”. Continue in this matter until you reach the last “dot” in the crease of your page. When you are finished you simply take your ruler and faintly draw your lines where your shaded circles are. (NOTE: you can also just eye the dots on the left page to see where exactly the lines will go on the right to avoid having to draw in your shaded circles going down on the right page. If it’s easier for you to draw the dots in – go ahead and do that.)
Your pages should look like this:
Taking your waterproof black pen/marker (I used a Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen in Size S) simply write over your pencil marks using the ruler to get a crisp black monthly template.
Next I used the days of the week stamps in the “Beautiful Days” stamp set to stamp out each day above the template, using black ink (I used Versafine Ink in Onyx Black). Then I used the “Spotty Alpha” set to stamp out my “June” header above the days of the week.
I also went ahead and stamped a few cute decorations from the “Summer Vibe” stamp set on the right page where I plan to put my column for monthly reminders and to do’s.
Using my ruler and black marker I drew out the lines for the column around the stamps I already placed on that page.
The end result looks like this:
After I finished with the basic set up of my monthly spread I added stickers from the April Little Bits Box, and stamped out the tiny icons from the “Summer Vibe” stamp set to create bullet points in my column to list out reminders and events for the month of June.
Next, I colored all the stamped images using my Zig clean color real brush markers. They are watercolor markers which is why I went with a waterproof stamping ink and marker for tracing the lines for the monthly template.
This is “before the pen” so to speak:
Lastly, I added in my reminders and events in the column I created on the right hand page.
Here is a look at the finished spread!
