Mommy Lhey Designs offers many amazing products, from stamps, inks, beautiful pens, a monthly subscription box (Little Bits) and even travel notebooks and planners! But, did you also know that Lhey offers great digital stamps in her shop as well?! In addition, Lhey also offers up freebie digital stamps within her Facebook group as well! Lhey’s digital stamps are just another great resource she offers to help make your planners and crafts truly unique. So today I’m going to show you how I created my spread this week completely with digital stamps – along with the washi and stickers from the July LBB. I did not use any physical stamps at all!
For this spread you will need:
- ML digital stamps – I used a mix of the digital stamps Lhey includes in our digital bundles that come with each months LBB subscription, free digital stamp Lhey has shared in her Facebook group and 2 digital stamps I purchased from the shop.
- July LBB (or any stickers and/or washi you would like to use on your spread).
- Cardstock or Sticker Paper to print the digital stamps on.
- Coloring Medium (I am using Copic markers)
- Scissors and/or Brother Scan and Cut (or any other cutting tool you may have)
- Your Planner! (I’m using personal sized inserts from City Girl Planners.
First, choose whichever digital stamps you’d like to use in your spread. Download, save and then arrange same within a “word” doc. I resized my digital stamps to be smaller than normal, so that they wouldn’t take up too much space in my planner layout. I like adding all the digital stamps to a word doc so that I can just print one sheet of cardstock and have all my digital stamps on it, rather than simply printing one by one and wasting paper.
After I have everything downloaded, added to my word doc, resized and printed I then send my page through the brother scan and cut in order to get a quick and crisp cut out of each stamp. If you don’t have this tool, don’t worry! Simply fussy cut your stamps and you’ll be ready for coloring!
When all my stamps are cut I play around with sizing and my layout to choose just a few to color. When I have my choices, I then move to color matching my markers to coordinate with my stickers and washi.
Next, I color all my stamps and then begin laying down washi and stickers according to my upcoming weeks plans and events.
Occasionally, I will cut the stamps “ down” in order to make them appear to be actually within the boxes or behind the squares on the page. You can see from my complete spread how I simply cut my girls at the waist to give a bit more visual appeal, and have them appear to be popping up from behind the washi and stickers I’ve already laid down!
So that’s it! If you want to try your hand at a super quick and easy spread I highly recommend using Lhey’s digital stamps! No inking, no mess – just print, color, cut and you’re all set!
