I started with some plain white cardstock and cut down to 3×4 size to fit in my pockets. I used a little ink and paint from my stash plus some Mommy Lhey washi to create the spread.
For the “Life is Good” from the YOLO set, I didn’t want the black ink (from the Diva ink set) to be too overpowering so I stamped it first on a piece of scrap paper and then stamped again on my card without adding more ink.
I thought the cute Panda from the Peek-A-Boo set was the perfect touch for this card about my daughter, the future zoologist. “Goals” is also from the Yolo set and stamped in Queen of the Night. For the “hello today” and “make today count” card, I stamped those two sentiments and tiny heart from the Peek-A-Boo set repeatedly to make my own patterned background.
For my “just breathe” card, I wanted to keep it pretty simple and focus on the journaling. I stamped the sentiment in Queen of the Night and the row of hearts from YOLO in Plumeria. Then I drew a few lines for the journaling.
I love how versatile stamps are and how much use you can get out of them. Every so often, I like to mix things up and do things a little differently. Why not participate along with me and try challenging yourself to a no-patterned-paper spread in your planner or on your pocket pages? Or if you usually don’t use any patterned paper, challenge yourself to use some!
