Hello everyone, Leslie here, and I wanted to share something different on the blog today. I am so in love with all of Mommy Lhey’s new stamps, I just had to make a fun shaker card for Valentine’s Day for my Hubby using her new stamps. The new stamps I chose to use are the “Love in Full Bloom” and the “Spotty Alpha”. The pigment inks I used are Queen of the Night from the Diva set and Blush from the Cotton Candy set. I will be adding sequins from the November Little Bits kit and also incorporating the packaging from the January Little Bits.
To begin, I stamped the cutest little couple ever from the Love in Bloom set with the Queen of the Night ink directly onto my paper doily I got from Target. I then used the Blush ink to stamp the words “Be Mine” to the top of the heart with the Spotty Alpha stamps. These are the best alpha stamps and so many possibilities to use them. I also stamped the phrase, “You Mean the World to Me” in Blush ink on a separate tag that came from Target as well. One of the coolest things about the pigment ink is it dries so quickly, and I was able to color my couple right after stamping with colored pencils. I inked the edges of the doily with the Blush ink by sliding the edge of the doily directly onto the ink pad. So pretty!
I trimmed some pretty vellum in the shape of a heart and glued it to the back of the doily. Next I got out my trusty fuse tool and a spare pocket page and fused the bottom half of the doily in the shape of a heart and added the beautiful sequins from my Little Bits Kit. After the sequins was added, I was able to seal the rest of the heart and trim off the excess.
Next, I added a clear pocket (from Target) to the back side of the card, and trimmed the pink and white stripe packaging to fit inside. Even Mommy Lhey’s packaging is so pretty, and I try to not waste any of it. I use it all. This makes the perfect place to slip in a gift card, a love note, and this case a sweet little tag.
I added some pretty paper flowers to the outside of my card for an extra touch of décor. I really think my Hubby will love this card I made him for Valentines. I might even get him a gift card to Starbucks along with a sweet note on the back of my tag.
But until Valentine’s Day, I can use this pretty card in my Planner or Travelers Notebook for dashboard decorations. I love that I can use Mommy Lheys’ stamps and planner kits for all types of crafting and planning.
I hope you were inspired to have fun and play with the stamps and kits for all your creative adventures. Thank you for stopping by.
